PatientCare EMS® has been the exclusive 911 ambulance provider in Sioux Falls, SD since May 2015. Our workforce of about 100 employees collaborates closely with six fire departments to cover 73-square miles serving more than 215,000 residents, responding to more than 25,000 emergency requests per year and transporting approximately 19,000 patients each year.
Since 2016, PatientCare EMS has been accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Ambulance Services (CAAS) and reached Gold Level status from the American Heart Association in their Mission Lifeline program in 2018, 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023 and 2024 after receiving Silver Level status in 2017 and Bronze Level status in 2016. Our experienced team of paramedics provides communities with top-notch care and holds certification in:
- Basic Life Support – Cardio-pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
- Pre-hospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS)
Our state-of-the-art fleet of 10 ambulances are equipped with Lifepak 15 ECG devices with 12-lead transmission capability, Stryker Power Stretchers, electronic Panasonic Toughbook patient care reporting devices along with the latest in dispatching software, and a driver monitoring and feedback system. Metro Communication’s Accredited Center of Excellence (ACE) provides all the dispatch services with their EMD certified and “System Status Management” trained staff.
PatientCare EMS launched PatientCare Mobility in 2021. With this service we provide stretcher and wheelchair services as well as home health options for patients who do not require ambulance transportation.
